Arsenal AI Is Introducing Our First Four Portfolio Companies

We make it official this Thursday.

This Thursday, we announce the thing we’ve been building toward since we started Arsenal last October: our first cohort of portfolio companies — four companies we’re helping fund and build, right here in Pittsburgh.

Arsenal AI is a venture studio and AI consulting firm. We don’t just write checks — we put capital, engineering, product, and go-to-market work behind founders at the earliest stage, and we build alongside them.

The four companies work in very different areas:

In the operating room

Surgeons work at millimeter precision, yet the imaging and plans they depend on sit on flat screens across the room — forcing them to look away at exactly the moments that matter most.

In veteran care

Veterans are entitled to benefits many never fully receive, because navigating the system is complex and time-consuming.

In real estate development

Developers evaluate sites and deal economics with scattered data and weeks of manual analysis.

In estate settlement

Families settling a loved one’s affairs face a long list of accounts, documents, and deadlines at the worst possible time.

Each is an early-stage company led by experienced founders, with Arsenal providing capital and hands-on build support.

The team doing that work has grown from five people at the end of 2025 to more than twenty engineers, designers, and operators today — most of us trained at CMU, Pitt, or Penn State, or raised in this region.

Pittsburgh’s startup and venture ecosystem is small but strong. We believe there’s a real opportunity to strengthen its core by adding more capital and highly specialized AI and data engineering. This city has proven it has some of the smartest people and leading institutions in the world, and it creates some of the most innovative companies anywhere. We want to help keep both here.

There’s precedent for that. Thursday’s announcement happens in the building George Westinghouse opened as his air brake factory in 1869 — and the company he started there is still headquartered in Pittsburgh more than 150 years later. We believe these four companies will make a tangible impact on the world, and do it from right here.

We’ll make it official Thursday evening with the founders, investors, and civic leaders who helped these companies get to this point. On Friday, we’ll publish full introductions to all four — who they are, what they’re building, and where they’re headed.

I can’t thank everyone enough for the support, and we’re excited to keep the momentum. Please keep an eye out for more about our portfolio companies!
